Lucid Food returns to the NYC Swap-o-rama-rama this fall to bring fabulous vegan fare to hungry swappers. Lucid Food catering is run by Louisa Shafia. With Lucid Food, Louisa has brought seasonal, local, and organic goods into the world of catered food. Out of her strong commitment to sustainability came the idea for waste free picnics, which Louisa started offering last summer. The picnics make use of biodegradable plates and cups that are composted after the event, and all supplies are transported in recycled or reusable containers, so almost nothing ends up in a landfill.

Louisa graduated from the Natural Gourmet Cookery School in Manhattan. She has worked at noteworthy restaurants in both New York and San Francisco, including Aquavit, Pure Food and Wine, Millennium, and the former Roxanne's. Her passion for cooking is fueled by a desire to make environmentally sustainable food that is both elegant and delectable.
